Are you set up on Google? Business Profile, Analytics and Ads checks

Are you set up on the platform most customers use? 12 checks · 14% of the overall score.

For most local and service businesses, Google is the front door: the Maps listing, the knowledge panel, the ads, and the search results. This chapter checks whether the website is connected to that ecosystem — whether the listing is linked, whether measurement is installed, and whether the facts Google reads (name, address, phone) are consistent.

Google Business Profile (GBP) is the free listing that appears on Google Maps and in the local “3-pack”. It is the single highest-leverage asset most small businesses under-manage.

Most common fixes

  1. Claim and complete your Google Business Profile; link to it from the website footer.
  2. Add LocalBusiness JSON-LD with the exact same name, address and phone as the listing.
  3. Install GA4 and verify the property in Search Console; both are free.
  4. If running Ads, install the conversion tag and import GA4 key events.

Questions

What is GBP?

GBP is Google Business Profile — the free listing that shows your business on Google Maps and in the map results on Google Search, with reviews, hours, photos and directions. Formerly called Google My Business.

Does the health check read my Google Business Profile?

It checks whether your website links to a Profile and whether the site's business facts are consistent. Live listing data (rating, reviews, hours) is an optional add-on because Google charges for the Places API.
